My career began in the hotel business in catering after graduating from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. After moving to Chicago and starting a family, I decided that meeting planning was more conducive to family life. I worked with HIMSS in Chicago for 7 years as the meeting planner, coordinating their annual conference of more than 25,000. After moving to Nashville in 2000, I decided to take some time off to raise my two daughters and be a full-time mom. As they grew older and more independent, I decided to go back to work part-time for Tennessee Chapter of Meeting Planners International. This position led me to Parthenon Management Group in Brentwood, TN where I was Project Manager for the Schizophrenia International Research Society and International Society of Psychiatric Genetics. I planned international conferences for these two groups ranging in attendance from 600 – 2000.
I joined XMI more than four years ago and am the Executive Director for American Filtration & Separations Society and the Director of Meetings for XMI. I enjoy working with the volunteer leaders of AFS and helping them achieve their organization goals by promoting the Society and communicating the global importance of filtration. I was recently named Director of Meetings and am excited about the opportunity to work with other XMI staff to create meaningful conferences and events for our clients. My personal goal is that every attendee, speaker, moderator, exhibitor has a positive conference experience at the meetings I and my team organize.
