Nearly 30 years ago I responded to a classified ad in the newspaper for something called an association management company, and I have been in the association management profession ever since. I have worked for associations of various sizes, from 100 to several thousand members, at the local, state, national and international level. I joined the staff of the Tennessee Bar Association in 1993 as the Young Lawyers Division Director, and became director of the Programs Division in 1998. In 2003 I was hired as the executive director of the Tennessee Society of Association Executives, where I remained until making the move to XMI in 2014.
Volunteer leaders know their own profession or trade better than anyone. I love nothing more than taking your vision and turning it into a reality. From board, committee and volunteer management to writing and distributing newsletters or managing member records to planning meetings and events I have the experience and skills required to help you fulfill your organization’s mission, vision and values.
I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Communications from Central College in Pella, Iowa, and became a Certified Association Executive in 1999. I am a member of the Tennessee Society of Association Executives and the American Society of Association Executives.
My husband, Mitchell, and I have two sons and one daughter, keeping us young by volunteering at their schools and taking them to soccer or volleyball practices and tournaments. We are also active members of First Presbyterian Church, Nashville, and we keep honeybees in our backyard.
