That state-funded Launch Tennessee hosts the event, with the help of corporate sponsors, also sends a powerful message to entrepreneurs outside Tennessee, said Nashville investor Jim Phillips, CEO of XMI business and investment firm.
“It shows to the world that our state government is behind capital formation and thinks that is important for economic development,” Phillips said. “You want to have public policy leaders to understand why business creation and job creation is important.”
